Maximilian Mad Dash is the youngest son of Rainbow Dash and Soarin.

Max is that athletic and successful child that Rainbow always wanted. He loves racing and competitions, although he seems to love even more making her mother happy by winning. Rainbow always try not to push his baby boy too hard, thankfully she has Soarin to stop her before she gets crazy. They still cheer him up with his grandparents help. This little pegasus is very brave, impulsive, friendly and a total hollow head. He hardly ever pays attention to what is around him and often ends up with his face on the floor or stamped on some wall. Yet he never loses his smile. Max is very innocent and never realizes when somepony is messing with him. Max always tries to help his friends as much as he can, although he often ends up paying more attention to the fly that has just passed in front of his face than to the rest of the world. He actually enjoys to be the center of attention, but never taking the spotlight away from who deserves it. Max tries his best to make his friends stand out.

He was born into a successful family and a little demanding, being two Wonderbolts kid is not exactly easy. Max loves his parents madly, but he loves even more his grandparents, who are always encouraging him to be the best he can be. His parents are always enrolling him at all the competitions just so they can spend more time together. Due to the work of both of them as Wonderbolts, they can hardly spend time together. Even today, Max escapes at night to sleep in his parents' bed. He would like to spend more time with his older sister, Serena, although she is always busy working or throwing him out of her room. At the end of the day he has spent more time in his grandparents' house than in his own. Since he began to spend time in Ponyville he does not feel alone anymore.

Max studies in Cloudsdale, but he would like to start studying at Ponyville since that's where he feels most comfortable, although he would miss the softness of the clouds.

According to him he has many friends in Cloudsdale, with whom he makes many jokes and is constantly laughing. What he doesn't know is that those "friends" of his, are laugthing at him, not with him. Max is unable to understand that they mess with him and he thinks that's a sign of affection like any other, that's why he messes with his friends in Ponyville. The first time he visited the small village, his mother made him spend the day with Euli, Fluttershy's daughter. She did not look very happy but Max was happy to spend the day with another pegasus, he was convinced that there were only earth ponies in Ponyville. Euli is one of the ponies he enjoys to spend the day with the most, although she is always ignoring and avoiding him. He also enjoys being with all her animals, specially the bunnies. Another of the ponies with which he spends more time is Mek, son of Applebloom. They are best friends and he is always trying to make Mek more determined and confident and declare himself at his crush. Skipper, Scootaloo's daughter, is his flight colleague and they are always making friendly competitions. At first he used to let her win because she is smaller and younger than him, but he always ends up losing even when he tries the best of himself, especially in acrobatics. Joystick, Sweetie Belle's daughter, seems very insistent to be his friend, but Max is quite afraid of her. Usually accustomed to mess with Ember, Rarity's daughter, for the sole reason that he thinks she's a super cool gal, but Ember always ends up looking angry and running away fuming through her nose. It seems like Max has developed a tiny crush on Princess Twilight's daughter
